Why the rich world's fertility problem will force a rethink on immigration.

Stephen Bond Financial Times May 30th, 2022

With declining fertility, the working age population will decline, often precipitously. The author argues that this will force a change in attitudes towards migrant workers. He is pessimistic about increasing the fertility rate. Financial support for motherhood is insufficient. Parents are happier than childless couples in old age but are unhappier when raising children. Governments will have to work hader to attract migrants.
