The Troubling Decline in Global Fertility Rates

Over the past 50 years the global fertility rates have nearly halved. The upshot is a decline in the working age populations, particularly in the developed economies. There is little evidence that "pronatalist" policies work. In the long run the rich will have to get used to having fewer youngsters around.
