Germany’s Population shrinks for the first time in a decade 

The German Government announced this week that the population shrank for the first time in a decade.The number of people living in Germany shrank by 40,000 in the first half of the year. The fertility continues to be below the replacement level. COVID increased the deaths and slowed immigration.
